![]() And Diavolo has expressed that he feels like he gets left out and he's lonely. The more I see them interact or talk about the other, the more it looks like Lucifer only wants it to be a professional relationship and keeps Diavolo at an arm's length. ![]() He talks about how Lucifer is only formal with him. Diavolo admires him, trusts him, even when he knew that Lucifer defied him. The way I see it, Diavolo wants so badly to be included in Lucifer's family. ![]() There's something very endearing about that. Here's a guy whose love runs so deep that he'll do anything to protect the ones he loves, and if he married MC, I'm sure he'd take his marriage vows just as seriously as he takes his oath to Diavolo. On the one hand, a guy with such a strong devotion to someone else is a bit of a turn off, but on the other hand, knowing that his feelings run so deep and he takes his oaths so seriously are a bit of a turn on. His brothers and MC are the only things he would defy Diavolo for if it were absolutely necessary in order to protect them, and I think Diavolo respects that and would not put Lucifer in a position of having to choose. Although Lucifer swore loyalty to Diavolo, he makes it clear that his family's well-being always comes first and foremost, and I'm sure that Diavolo knows this. His subservience to Diavolo definitely annoys his brothers, but there are times that Lucifer stands up to Diavolo, and another character speculates that their relationship is actually more friendship than master/servant. Lucifer is not magically compelled to obey orders from Diavolo, but he has always been an angel/demon of his word, so he will not easily break an oath made. Lastly- if Lucifer was in a relationship with Mc and was ordered to hurt Mc I believe he would refuse- he loves Mc and he will rebel if it’s to protect someone he loves. The contract is more formal- its not like a demon pact where the humans can string the demons around like a puppet. Lucifer was put under house arrest for the betrayal of sheltering Belphie- but he ignored it to come with his brothers and Mc to request that Diavolo free Belphie. But he allows it, until Belphie is set free, he lets it happen because he does care for Lucifer as a friend and while Belphie is in the attic he can’t hurt any human. When Belphie said he would massacre all humans Lucifer locked him in the attic and lied to Diavolo and everyone that he was in the human world as the exchange student- Diavolo knows it’s a lie- he knows that Belphie is attempting to treason (Uhh- that sentence is badly structured.) and knows that Lucifer is going against him like this. Secondly it’s not magical because he has actually refused Diavolo’s command/wishes twice. She’s an important part to the deal- Lucifer swore absolute loyalty to Diavolo to save Lilith- so in a way- I believe that he sees betraying Diavolo as betraying Lilith. He follows it because if he doesn’t he’s making himself look bad by being a brat-īut there’s another party to the absolute loyal thing- and that’s Lilith. Lucifer swore absolute loyalty but I believe it’s more of a formal or pride thing. I’m not looking to be inflammatory or anything, I’m just genuinely curious as to how people perceive this situation. Maybe I don’t understand the situation, but if things are the way I described them, wouldn’t that be pretty counterproductive in an otome game? The idea that your love interest would be willing to hurt you if their master orders them to? Or even just the idea that he won’t be able to give as much of himself as you do in a relationship? Additionally -and this is purely hypothetical- if Diavolo ever ordered Lucifer to hurt the MC, Lucifer would still do it even if they’re together, right? Because he swore absolute loyalty to Diavolo. Like, the MC is in a relationship with him and he comes first for them, but they’ll always come after Diavolo for him. I wanted to ask if that puts anyone off from the idea of a relationship with Lucifer? If Lucifer swore loyalty to Diavolo, does that mean that he’s magically compelled to do everything that’s asked of him? Or was his oath purely formal in nature?Īlso, related to his relationship with Diavolo, the wiki says that he swore absolute loyalty to Diavolo, and that he’ll follow his commands no matter what. To start with, I haven’t played Obey Me, but I have studied the characters out of curiosity, and I have one thing I’m not sure I understood.
